The concept
Sardinian wine, without the palate fatigue

This tour crosses three of Sardinia's most distinctive wine regions: Gallura, home of Vermentino DOCG; Barbagia-Ogliastra, home of Cannonau; and Sulcis, home of Carignano. We don't plan tasting marathons: a maximum of two wineries a day, occasionally three, always with lunch or dinner included at the winery.

Each day stays focused on a single area, so transfers between wineries are always short. A driver is included every day, because with multiple tastings a day no guest can also be behind the wheel.

Like all our proposals, this is a starting point: we can focus it on a single region for a shorter stay, or tailor it for a group of enthusiasts or a corporate event in the food & beverage sector.

The regions
Three territories, three native grapes

Sardinia doesn't have a single wine region: each area has its own soil, climate and grape variety. The tour follows that geography instead of ignoring it.

Gallura

Vermentino di Gallura DOCG

Sardinia's only DOCG wine. Fresh, aromatic white grown on granite soils, with sea views. The rare Torbato di Alghero is also produced nearby.

Barbagia & Ogliastra

Cannonau di Sardegna DOC

The heartland of Cannonau, around Oliena and Jerzu: a full-bodied, long-lived red tied to the island's interior. Canyon and limestone-mountain scenery.

Carignano del Sulcis DOC

Century-old bush vines on the sandy soils of the south-west. Intense red with velvety tannins, among the most distinctive in Italy.

How the itinerary unfolds

Day 1

Arrival in Gallura

Private transfer from Olbia airport, check-in in the Gallura area. Welcome dinner at a family winery with an opening tasting.

Day 2

Gallura, the home of Vermentino

Visit two wineries in Gallura with a tasting of Vermentino di Gallura DOCG, lunch among the vines on the area's granite soils.

Day 3

Alghero and the Torbato

Transfer to Alghero, visit a historic winery for a tasting of the rare Torbato di Alghero DOC, walk through the Catalan old town and along the city walls.

Day 4

Toward the centre, stop in Oristano

Transfer toward Barbagia with a stop in Oristano: visit a historic winery and taste Vernaccia di Oristano DOC, a uniquely oxidative wine.

Day 5

Barbagia, the heart of Cannonau

Two wineries around Oliena, one of the most renowned areas for Cannonau di Sardegna DOC. Traditional Barbagia lunch with porceddu and pane carasau.

Day 6

Ogliastra and the east coast

A winery around Jerzu, among bush vines and Ogliastra's canyons. Free afternoon or a walk along the east coast.

Sulcis, the Carignano

Transfer south, two wineries in Sulcis for a tasting of Carignano from century-old vines. Farewell dinner with a full food pairing, guided by the winemaker.

Departure from Cagliari

Private transfer to Cagliari-Elmas airport.

This is just a starting point: we can focus the tour on a single region (Gallura alone, for example, is ideal for a long weekend), extend it beyond 7 nights, or tailor it for a corporate group in the wine and hospitality sector.
